A Kanpachi velveteen sailor ribbon bow tie, made for Christmas!

Kanpachi velveteen (kanpachi betchin) is a 100% cotton fabric woven in Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture, where velveteen has been made for generations. After weaving, the pile is cut and raised, giving the fabric its soft nap. Its pile is shorter than that of velvet, with a subtle sheen and deep color.

It’s quietly eye-catching, and its plush texture has a cozy warmth with a Japanese feel.

Care

Not washable, as washing will cause it to lose its shape. If it gets dirty, gently wipe it with a damp cloth, reshape it, and let it air-dry in a well-ventilated place.

・Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water.

・Iron at medium temperature with a cloth over the fabric.

Nishijin, Kinran, Chirimen, Rinzu, Tweed Fabrics, etc.

・Fabrics containing rayon or wool will shrink when soaked in water.

・To remove dirt from bandanas, bow ties, and other accessories, gently spot-clean with a slightly damp cloth.

・Due to the nature of woven fabrics, threads may come loose. If this happens, do not pull the thread; trim it with scissors.

・Please do not wash bow bandanas, bow ties, ribbons, or other accessories, as they may lose their shape.
